Yea.. what he said..

Snappy is a NUT. Seriously, all the lights are on -- but nobodies home. Which is probably why we get along so well..

Anywho... We generally watch most of the same shows. Although, he likes to tell folks I 'force him' to watch Des.perate Hou.sewives.

 ::side eye:

Please.

If I'm not around trust and believe he ain't missing it! lol

So, last night we watched that ratchet @ss Basket.Ball W.ives.

#T.witter was in an uproar! I stayed laughing at the commentary from #TEAMTAMI.

"It's going to be called Tami's BITCH!" Hilarity.

Too lazy to switch channels, we ended up watching the new show on VH.1 -- 'Single.Ladies'. More foolywang...

But, the highlight of my evening is when I'm hollering at Stacey.Dash for sleeping with her ex after the fool told her 'he wasn't in love with her anymore'. What?! Where they do THAT at?? You sleep with him after he's been with you five years and doesn't marry you, but he gets engaged in three months?!

So, I'm carrying on #talmbout "why in the world would she do that?! Why would she sleep with him?!"

Snappy says "because he's light skinned"

#DEAD.

BWAHAHAHA!! I must have laughed about 15 minutes, ya'll. Snappy is a fool! Did I mention Snappy is milk chocolate brown? I can't with him.

Did ya'll see that ratchet show?

These niggas here...

**News Flash** I have two teenage step-sons. Yes, Snappy was getting it poppin' as a teen, lol. I LOVE these kids. They live outside of the U.S., but are currently in Meantown for a bit...

Anywho.... Snappy, baby boogie and I see them just about every weekend. I chat & giggle with their mom like an old girlfriend and Snappy and their step-father get on like two old college chums. Its a beautiful and amazing relationship to me. Their step-father barely speaks a lick of english but is always telling us how much he loves us and that we are ALL family. The other weekend he declared how lucky the boys were to have four parents. Can you imagine that? Not a drop of weird energy hanging with Snappy's children's mother, her husband and their family. Its always LOVE. We mix drinks, make tons of food and let the kids run wild, while laughing and playing dominos all night..

Now, if you follow me on Tw.itter, then you know I was fucking #PISSED last night! Snappy and I planned to throw a BBQ-birthday party for my youngest step-son. He turned 16 two weekends ago -- but the weather had been pretty crappy, so we pushed the party out until this weekend. My MIL has the biggest yard and lives conveniently, so we decided to host it there. She owns a two family and her sister lives on the first floor. Sometime this week I guess the sisters adult children, my SIL and some random adult cousins and nephews were talking amongst themselves and planned to throw a BBQ this weekend, too.  Everyone was to chip in $50 and blah.. blah..

Mind you -- Snappy and I were not a part of that conversation. Later on, after plans had been set, my SIL remembers that Snappy and I had planned to throw a BBQ this same weekend. So, she calls Snappy fills him in and suggests we just combine the parties. Snappy has some reservations.. "Do you think folks will act weird about me bringing out a birthday cake?" SIL says No. Why would they? Snappy is still unsure. His gut was telling him that his cousins would act weird about it. SIL insists that it wouldn't be weird. We're all family! ::side eye:: Snappy takes her word and discusses the 'new' plan with the step-kids mom and her husband.

Now, not only would we put in the $50 that everyone agreed on.. BUT, we'd bring additional ribs, chicken, hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks AND the other family was going to make spanish rice & beans, a pork shoulder, cheesecake & cupcakes and a smorgasbord of other yummy @ss latin treats! *drool*

Fast forward to yesterday. SIL calls Snappy and says "They" aren't feeling combining parties and think we should do our own thing on Sunday and they'll continue to do their BBQ on Saturday. S'cuse me? What's the problem? Snappy is annoyed that he didn't listen to his gut on the matter,  because now he has to go back to the kids and their mom with more changed plans and I'm PISSED!

What kind of bullshyt is that? Why would they have a problem with us ALL pooling our resources and having one big party? Its not like everyone doesn't know each other. *grrrrrr* SIL says "Well, 'they' didn't know who was coming and....." Why didn't they ask! Come on SIL, you KNOW your nephews family and so do they! Not to mention, why didn't you A) advocate for this to happen since you suggested it or B) tell those that had concerns about how it would work out, to call Snappy? Duh!

I'm livid at this point. This is supposed to be Snappy's FAMILY acting like this. Blood Relatives. And that my blogger family is why niggers can't get ahead. They don't want to do things together and pool their resources. Its all about "I don't know them.. who is dat? Nah son.. you betta get yours because I gots to get mine" mentality.

The thing that upset me the most -- the thing that really burned me up.. Snappy was hurt behind this. He couldn't understand how his sons family embraces everyone and his own blood can't see beyond their selfishness to do the same. Maybe its a cultural thing #kanyeshrug But, ignorant colored folks that can't see enough to get out of their own way piss me off! Why the separation? Snappy was REALLY pissed when the SIL said "Well, I wasn't contributing money anyway, so it was a win, win for me, two parties in one weekend".

Sad. Just sad.

So, the end result is, we plan to do nothing at all. We're going to take the kids to the go-carts and miniature golf place and leave the in-laws to their own devices. Did I want to be spiteful and still show up with a cake and tell them to kiss my ass? Of course I did! lol. And these fools still had a nerve to ask us to contribute to their gathering on Saturday. #girlbye.com

Our absence will speak volumes-- and that's enough for me.

Has YOUR extended family or in-laws ever burned you up this way?

Wordless Wednesday

I cheat and still write during the "Wordless Wednesday" post.

#WhoGonCheckMeBoo?

Anywho.. I'm a recruiter in HR. Which means, I ignore take calls from folks stalking calling me for the status of their application or recent interview, review and laugh at poorly written resumes and conduct interviews.

If you're my friend on FB, then you've seen this.

But, if not.. my co-worker sent this to me and I fell out laughing. Who? What? Please tell me this is not real. I've gotten some hilarious job interest letters before (people cussing me out for not considering them & such..yea, like I'm going to hire you now...weirdo) -- but, this shyt..this shyt right here? Foolywang at its best!

Huh?

Baby Boogie is 20 months old now and the baby babble is in full effect. He had a full blown conversation with me this morning and I had no idea what he was saying. Huh?

I'm very proud of the fact that I ALWAYS spoke to baby boogie as if he could understand me. Even when Snappy was like 'why are you talking to him like he knows what you're saying?' I kept it up -- and stopped anyone dead in their tracks that did that goo goo gaa gaa crap. Not on my watch, sir.

At 10 months old I'd be asking him if he wanted oatmeal or scrambled eggs  for breakfast and earnestly wait for his response, lol. Yep, I may have taken it to far then, BUT now.. Baby Boogie knows what I'm saying with every.single. command I give him. I mean, I got this kid hanging up his coat on the door knob and putting his clothes in his own laundry basket! #score. Although most days I get tired of saying, ' put the table back, get off the TV stand, get out of the trash, close the door and get out of my closet' I can't help but beam with pride when I say ready for bed? and he says 'nite nite' or if I ask him if he's read for his bath and he says 'bush teeeef?' lol

But, the ENTIRE crazy ass conversations in baby babble stump me! He wakes up, says 'good mooooring' then its off and running with the talk, ending with a 'ya?' or 'huh?'-- looking at me or Snappy for a response. What the heck do you want me to say kid?! I don't even know what you're talking about!! lol

Anywho...most times I respond with: Really? That's great! Or, you don't say.... who said that?! Get out of here! And he seems generally pleased with that... He laughs and agrees like yea.. I can't believe the said that either... But, how long before he catches on to me? I know pretty soon he's going to be like 'hey..that's not what I said'... and busted!

How do YOU respond to baby babble?

Something stinky this way comes..

So...

For about two weeks or so, in a certain corner of our bedroom I would get a whiff of a dirty diaper smell. It wasn't pungent enough for me to think there was a dirty diaper hidden amongst the papers and random things I kept on top of the stand.. but strong enough to make me think 'WTF?' every time I was over there.

Today, I'd finally had enough wondering and started snooping.

What do I find tucked into a gift bag that I was using to sort some bills I needed to go through? A dirty muthaf*kin diaper!! Only Snappy could be responsible for this fuckery ::side eye:: Only my husband would put a dirty diaper in a gift bag with bills, THINKING it was trash!

Number 1) someone knows dirty diapers either A) go immediately into a plastic bag and outside OR B) in a plastic bag in the trash in our bathroom until it can be disposed outside.

Like, really dude?! REALLY?!

*sigh* Let this be a lesson to you single ladies.. guard your pearls!

Chicken Nazi & Monday Mashup

On Saturday, a few of us from my church volunteered at the local homeless shelter. I had NO idea what to expect. Or what the heck we'd be doing... But, I was excited! What a humbling opportunity to do something for folks less fortunate than myself.

We arrive at 4:30pm and go inside the building. The first thing I hear is 'Are you volunteers? Right this way!' No training? Ok... We're whisked right into the dining hall and into the kitchen, where we're handed over to the chicken nazi. She greets us with a mustache laced smile and points out the hair nets, aprons and gloves we'd be modeling. Sweet.

We're greeted by the coordinator, introduced to the dinning hall security supervisors and jump behind the serving line to take our stations. Trays & Egg Noodles. Chicken in a mushroom gravy. Mixed veggies. Rolls & butter. Fruit & Juice. I get to serve the chicken, yaaaay. And then the madness begins. Ya'll know there was going to be some fuckery, right?

First, apparently, I was putting too much gravy on top of the chicken and noodles. Everyone doesn't like extra gravy like me? Hmmmmm.. that's odd. Whatevs. So, the chicken nazi hustles me out the way and in her thick accent chastises me while giving me a lesson in gravy 101. "No! No! Too much sauce. Little bit sauce. Ok? Like so. See? ONE piece of chicken" Whatever lady. ::side eye::

So, I got my head down, right.. trying to get my chicken to gravy ratio correct when I realize I'm in a HOMELESS shelter. So I say to myself and myself says 'huh?' Maybe I should put a smile on my face and say "hello" to these men. There she go with her bright ideas.

I start getting wonky eyes and all kind of illicit winks! Foolywang, I swear. "Hey Miss Lady, this is my first time here and... can I get TWO pieces of chicken?" Well, sir... We're only allowed to give you ONE piece of chicken.... and so on and so forth went the next hour. But, all wasn't madness. Most of them men greeted us nicely, thanked us for being there and for volunteering. *tears* It really, really moved me. I was seriously touched. So much so, I plan on volunteering at least once a month.

In other news...

I've been 'trying' (key word TRYING) to be more wifely. Ya' know, baking.. not cussing under my breath while doing laundry..

So, this weekend I tried my hand at baking a cake. From scratch! Yes, your girl was doing the most.

I posted this wild and crazy thought about baking on Twitter and friend in my head Tarsha over at Three Food Words told me she had a recipe on her blog. Score!

I bought real live cake flour ya'll *gasp*. End result: A pretty slammin' cake! Me, Snappy and baby boogie was messing that cake up all weekend! I was kind of hard on myself, but after several test slices *ahem* and compliments from folks, I think I'll keep trying my hand at whipping up sugary treats in the kitchen.

What have YOU baked lately?

Dramatics 101

I like my dinner with a side of trailer trash #dontjudgeme

I enjoy a bit of drama in my life. Well, the good drama, if there is such a thing. If it's too quiet, I'll start singing a random song. LOUD. If baby Boogie is throwing a tantrum, I'll get right on the floor with him and make a scene. I like to wake up in the middle of the night, get right up in Snappy's face and hoarsely whisper "I'll Charlie.Sh.een that @ss!!!" Ya know'... Good drama.

It's with that cuntastic idea of fun that I scolded friend in my head Jameil  for the fantastically boring story she shared about spraining her ankle.

See now, Jameil is a friend in my head because:

A) We went to the real HU (Hampton Stand Up!!)together. Although, I only went for a year #dontjudgeme

B) We both like good food.

C) We both speak sarcasm.

That's it. I'm easy like that. Those two things makes her my bestie in my mind, lol

Anywho... Jameil was prancing around in her moms shoes and ....splat.. had a fall *yawn*.

I need a little spice here.

I was like c'mon son. You HAVE to do better than that. Put a little spin on it. Like.. she was prancing around the kitchen in six-inch stilettos, dropped a scallion on the floor, reached up to grab a pan from her hanging rack, the phone rang, she dashed for it and slipped. See?  Or.. she was walking into class, carrying a stack of books..tripped and tumbled down the stairs. But before she could reach the bottom a young strapping lad grabbed her...and they stumbled to the bottom together. I need something with a punch line! Something dramatic!

So, I know ya'll are wondering "Sha Boogie.. why the hell is there a Miller.Lite can in that picture with that salad?" Because I like to keep it trashy. And keeping it trashy means I like cheap beer. #thatisall

Welcome to the wonderful world of ShaBoogie

You can laugh at my crooked finger if you wanna'...

It's me bishes!!! It feels so good to have a new home. If you're a transplant, thanks for following your girl over. If you're a new reader, I'm so glad you're here...

I ditched my old blog because: 1) I had a few stalkers friends that were lurking and 2) I'm not the same 25 year old gal that started bloggin-- a lot done happened around these here parts *hikes up my britches*

Not to mention.. I was kinda jealous of all my blogger friends that posted pics. I started my old blog 'anonymously' -- and I didn't know who found out about it and was reading with ill intent. Yes, I am that paranoid. #dontjudgemefool

Anywho.. I love my new space! And I can't wait to chronicle the madness that is something like my life.
